Read the 2023 Annual Report on Donor Impact
Libraries are cathedrals for our imagination. They are magical places where stories, knowledge, and connections are freely accessible to all.
During this era of significant challenges for public libraries, ours stands strong. 2023 was a banner year for The Seattle Public Library and Foundation thanks to your support. We’re so grateful for your generosity to our library.
Donors like you funded $6.4 million for books, materials, and programs across the city, more than $1 million above what you provided in 2022. Advocates like you spoke up for the library with our policymakers. Supporters like you met our fundraising goals, fueling the launch of the Books Unbanned initiative and many impactful programs now and into the future.
It’s fitting that these record-setting achievements took place in Jonna Ward’s last full year at the helm of the Foundation. During Jonna’s 23 years of leadership, the Foundation became a national model for library fundraisers and advocates. The Foundation’s support for The Seattle Public Library is stronger than ever thanks to her leadership and the steadfast support of our community.
In our latest annual report below, you’ll read about your incredible impact. Our library has expansive collections, knowledge for all ages, and programs that bring joy and inspiration to fellow learners near and far every day.
We’re deeply grateful to help provide stories, knowledge, and connections for our neighbors because of you.
With gratitude,
Justo G. González
Foundation Board President, 2022-23
